Daily Show’s Jon Stewart organiseert op 30 oktober in Washington D.C. met een aantal geestverwanten de ‘Rally to Restore Sanity’. Wat het precies is? Stewart omschrijft de bijeenkomst met een treffende regel uit de overbekende monoloog uit de film Network. ‘I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore!’ is de wanhopige strijdkreet van een gedesillusioneerde nieuwslezer, die het gevaar van onverschilligheid ziet en afwijst.
